Seth Martin Promoted to Web Platform Engineer

Please join us in congratulating Seth Martin on his promotion to Web Platform Engineer. Seth started his career at Aim in 2018 as a Software Developer and will undoubtedly find success in his newest role.

“Seth has been an integral part of our development team since he joined us in 2018,” said Dan Kellgren, Aim Vice President of Software Development. “I was incredibly proud to be able to promote him to his new role and know he will continue to do great things here, at Aim.”

As the Web Platform Engineer, Seth will play an instrumental role in the management of Aim’s web platforms, such as our employee and customer portal (aimportal.net), our corporate website (aimntls.com), our sales CRM site (salesgoldcrm.com), and all our web based data feeds and APIs. Seth’s goal in his new role will be to lead the web front-end development team in maintaining and creating new content with our current sites. He is also responsible for keeping our sites running at a high performance while maintaining safety and security.

Seth’s personal goal as Aim’s new Web Platform Engineer is 1) to assist in the enhancement of interdepartmental communications, ensuring all involved parties have the skills, knowledge, and software capabilities to be successful; and 2) to keep all Aim web platforms equipped with the most cutting-edge web technologies.

When asked what changes he is looking to make in his new role, Seth said “I want to try to standardize the development process, making it easier to push changes out to everyone. This will allow for everyone to be on the same page.”

Martin graduated from Western Michigan University with his Undergraduate degree in Computer Science and a minor in Mathematics.

“Aim means a lot,” said Seth. “I feel very grateful to be given the opportunity to show how much I have grown personally and professionally while working at Aim, and I’m excited to prove myself and make my supervisors proud.”

“Aim, as an organization, is more than just a place I work; it’s a place where I can feel myself learning and growing not only in my career, but in the relationships I’ve built with my co-workers,” Seth continued. “There’s such a family feel to it. I’ve made good friends here who are always looking out for me and ready to help in any way, both in and outside of the office.”

“With Seth in this new role, our Software Development team can continue making lasting and impactful improvements for Aim and our customers,” said Kellgren. “After launching our new website and careers page, we are prepared now, more than ever, to continue pushing the envelope to bring the cutting-edge technology required to propel Aim forward as a best-in-class employer and a service provider.”

In his free time, Seth enjoys hiking, playing board games, cooking, and playing his guitars. He hopes to have time to start traveling internationally again. Pre-pandemic, Seth tried to travel outside the country as much as possible and is looking forward to being able to do so, once again. Some of his favorite places include Japan, Belize, and Ecuador.

“Aim has afforded me the opportunity to develop my programming skills and have an increased understanding of the proper documentation that is needed,” Seth concluded. “I am extremely grateful for the opportunity I have been given and can’t wait to get started in my new role.”
